I recently came across this inspiring article by Dave Ulrich on the importance of hope in Employee Experience : What Is the Next Step for Employee Experience? The Why, What, and How of Hope | LinkedIn

I already knew that choosing hope over dread was much more effective in helping a desirable future to come about. For instance, when I help my clients to collectively envision a future that is both realistic and optimistic, hope becomes a powerful force driving transformation. Reading this article reinforced that belief and made me realize how deeply it aligns with my work and values.

Dave Ulrich's exploration of hope as both a foundation and a result of employee experience adds a new layer of understanding to how work cultures can support mental health and human performance through characteristics such as healthy relationships, efficacy, and people empowerment.

The practical advice offered also resonates with practices I (try to) embody daily: self-compassion, seeing the good rather than the bad in life and in people, maintaining a growth mindset, taking small steps forward...

If you're looking for new ways to strengthen your approach to employee experience, considering how hope can play a role and how as managers and leaders we can foster it might offer a fresh and powerful perspective.
